This Privacy Policy describes how Cadence (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by Robert Mastronicola as a sole proprietor, collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our scheduling platform at cadence.dance (“the Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Account information: When you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your name and email address from Google. If you instead sign in with an emailed sign-in link, we collect the email address you enter. We store this information to identify your account and communicate with you about the Service.
Studio and schedule data: We store the content you create within the Service, including studio names, class schedules, instructor information, and any other data you input while using Cadence.
Payment information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your credit card numbers or banking details. Stripe provides us with limited transaction metadata (e.g., subscription status, last four digits of card on file, billing dates) necessary to manage your subscription.
Usage data: We may collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, timestamps, and browser/device information. This data is used to improve the Service, diagnose technical issues, and help you get the most out of Cadence (see Section 2).

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may use aggregated, non-personally-identifiable data to measure the reach of our advertising campaigns (see Sections 4 and 5 for details on the Meta Pixel).
Your data is stored on cloud infrastructure provided by Vercel (application hosting) and Neon (database). Data is hosted in the United States. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure, though no system can guarantee absolute security.
We use the following third-party services to operate Cadence. Each has its own privacy policy that governs how they handle data:
Cadence uses session cookies to keep you logged in between visits. These cookies are managed by NextAuth.js, our authentication library, and are stored in your browser. They contain a session token that identifies your authenticated session — they do not contain your password or payment information.
We also use the Meta Pixel, which places a third-party cookie from Facebook to measure ad performance. This cookie may link your visit to your Facebook profile if you are logged into Facebook. You can opt out via your Facebook ad preferences or by clearing cookies through your browser settings.
We also collect anonymous usage events (such as the pages you visit, or when a schedule is generated or a studio is created) to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. When you aren't signed in, these events are tagged with a random identifier stored in your browser's local storage, so we can count unique and returning visitors. That identifier is not linked to your account, even if you later sign up, and clearing your browser's site data resets it. These events are stored in our database and are not shared with third parties.
If you visit from the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we do not load the Meta Pixel or store the visitor identifier described above. To do this, we set a small cookie recording only that you are visiting from one of these regions; it contains no identifier and expires after one day. We use Vercel Analytics to collect aggregate pageview data; this does not use advertising cookies or fingerprinting.
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@cadence.dance. We will respond to verifiable requests within a reasonable timeframe.
You may also delete your account at any time. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data from active systems subject to our data retention policy described below.
We retain your account and studio data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (e.g., billing records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by tax law).
Aggregate or anonymized usage data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.
The Service itself is directed to studio owners, instructors, and administrators, not to children. Children do not register for, log into, or otherwise directly access the Service. The account holders and users of the Service (studio owners, instructors, administrators) are expected to be adults.
However, studio owners and administrators may choose to enter personal information about the students they teach — including names, dates of birth, and parent/guardian contact information — some of whom are minors. This information is submitted by the studio, at its discretion, to manage its own business (for example, class rosters and attendance tracking). As described in Section 4, certain features — including the AI-powered roster import tool and the Cue assistant — may process this information using Anthropic's AI models to extract or act on it as part of providing the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and we rely on studio owners to have appropriate authority to submit information about their students to the Service.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe information about your child has been submitted to Cadence and would like it removed, please contact us at hello@cadence.dance, or contact your studio directly — we will work with the account holder to address your request.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we may also notify you by email or through a notice within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
